Basic vehicle dimensions
The basic vehicle dimensions are used to clearly identify uniformly defined dimensions.
The basic dimensions of vehicles are defined by the international standard ISO 612 of 1978. In order to determine the basic dimensions of road vehicles correctly and objectively, it is necessary to meet certain basic assumptions when measuring.
Prerequisites for the determination of basic dimensions:
1 – the vehicle is placed on a horizontal plane
2 – the vehicle is loaded to the permissible vehicle total mass or kerb mass
3 – the vehicle is at rest, its wheels and steering mechanism are in the straight-ahead position
4 – the tires are inflated to the pressure corresponding to the full load of the car
5 – the vehicle has standard accessories, equipment and fittings
